Northeast Research Station Row Crops Field Tour

The annual Northeast Research Station Row Crops Field Tour will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 in St. Joseph, LA with registration starting at 4:30. The program will begin at 5 pm with the field tour departing at 5:15.  Field presentations will highlight research and demonstrations done at Northeast which are applicable to all row crops. These presentations will include talks on new cover crop seeding recommendations, weed control in row crops, and soil moisture infiltration rates using cover crops. Insect problems both current and potential will be discussed along with comments on cover crops and the green bridge. An update on this summer’s corn and cotton crops will be presented.  The final stop will talk about growing rice as an upland crop.  A meal will be served and a talk on the Farm Bill will round out the Field Day.
