Vulcan Insecticide New Signal Word
MANA announces that the Environmental Protection Agency has approved a label change for Vulcan insecticide and authorized the use of a “caution” signal word designation on the product label. Revised from its previous signal word designation of “warning,” Vulcan is now within the lowest category of toxicity ratings for agricultural chemicals.

The significance of this label change means pesticide users and applicators have greater peace of mind knowing that Vulcan reduces the risk of exposure or the potential for injury versus products with more restrictive signal words, explains MANA regarding the change.

Vulcan is considered a next-generation emulsifiable concentrate (EC) formulation that delivers excellent pest control and reduced odor within a user-friendly and environmentally sound platform. It is also the only liquid chlorpyrifos product for agricultural use with a “caution” signal word on its label.

According to MANA, Vulcan is ideal for growers who want a more sustainable option for pest management on their high-value crops with a better environmental profile than traditional EC formulations. Unlike traditional EC products and their suspension concentrate (SC) alternatives, Vulcan offers a low-impact formulation that will not compromise on performance.

Vulcan received registration approval from the EPA in February 2012. It is currently labeled for use on peanuts, corn, soybeans, wheat, pome fruit, tree nuts, vegetables and other crops. Chlorpyrifos, the active ingredient in Vulcan, is a proven and widely used pesticide for fast-acting and efficacious control of yield-robbing insects.

Soucy Track Unveils The S-Tech 800
Soucy International Inc. announced the launch of a brand new product in its line of Soucy Track agricultural track systems: the S-TECH 800. Designed for high-powered tractors, this track system is the culmination of many years of research and development.

The commercial success enjoyed by Soucy Track over the past eight years is a clear indication that the track system market is booming. Assuming its role as a global industry leader, Soucy Track has made it its mission to offer farmers a system that leaves no room for compromise and outperforms anything on the market today.

The new features include a brand new platform with a central geometry developed using castings, which prevents the accumulation of debris and offers the durability and flexibility demanded by farmers.

The most significant technological advance is the addition of independent lateral tandems on the support wheels. These tandems enable the wheels to follow ground contours while providing unrivaled comfort but especially better load distribution, which increases traction, flotation and the system’s lifespan.

Soucy Track developed a brand new adaptation system that does not result in any modifications to the tractor with respect to its transmission ratios, ensuring the longevity of the track system and the tractor.

The S-TECH 800 is currently available for John Deere 8030 and 8R series tractors. It will also soon be available for Case, New Holland and Fendt tractors. For more information about Soucy Track, visit www.soucy-track.com.

Automatic Delivery Of Weather Data
Onset, a world leader in data loggers and weather stations, announced a new, enhanced version of the company’s HOBOlink Web-enabled software platform that provides 24/7 data access and remote management for Onset’s Webbased HOBO U30 data logging systems.

HOBOlink now makes accessing weather data faster and more convenient than ever. It enables users to schedule automatic delivery of exported data files, in CSV or XLSX format, via email or FTP. And, users now have the flexibility to configure the data export in a highly customized way.

For example, a user who has four HOBO U30 systems measuring multiple parameters may configure HOBOlink to automatically export temperature data only – and within a specified time range. This speeds up data analysis time and enables users to focus only on the data that’s important to them.

HOBOlink also enables users to access current and historical data, set alarm notifications and relay activations, and manage and control HOBO U30 systems without having to go into the field.
